Dave Prowten has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of JDRF Canada since September 2013. Dave is a champion for the Type 1 diabetes community and is driven to advance its mission by working with a passionate group of volunteers and staff. Dave has developed key partnerships with the federal government to accelerate our research strategy and increased JDRF’s provincial advocacy efforts to improve patient access for new diabetes technologies. He has been in the not for profit sector for over 20 years, and has developed expertise in fundraising, strategic leadership, advocacy and governance.
Prior to working in the not for profit sector, he worked at Quaker Oats in marketing and sales for 10 years, developing business and financial planning, negotiations and performance management skills.
Dave participated in the Governor General Canadian Leadership Conference in 2015, and went to Queen’s University, graduating with a B. Comm.
